Fraud Awareness Day

Fraud Awareness Event: Keeping Yourself Safe at Home and Online at Barclays Bank, Mitcham on Friday 8th February, 10am-12pm.

Keeping our homes safe and secure is something that concerns us all, but with the internet having changed so many aspects of day-to-day life it can be harder than ever to know when we might be putting ourselves or our private information at risk.

That’s why I’d like to invite you to join me at Barclays Bank in Mitcham on Friday, 8th February to learn more about fraud awareness and home safety.

A range of stalls will be offering advice and support on the day, including:

Barclays Digital Eagles – offering guidance on staying safe online, safeguarding your accounts, and using ATMs safely.

Barclays Financial Crime Team – sharing information on human trafficking, modern slavery, and how to avoid being a money mule.

Merton Trading Standards – advising residents how to spot rogue traders and common scams in the local area.

Local Police Officers – offering advice on keeping yourself safe at home and online, and answering any queries that residents might have.

In addition, local Councillors Agatha Akyigyina, Mike Brunt, and Geraldine Stanford will also be in attendance to answer any questions or discuss any concerns that residents might have.

There will also be teas, coffees, and refreshments available, so please do come along.

I hope to see you there!
